Motorola has taken a shot at Apple's iPhone in their latest marketing campaign, a likely retaliation to Apple claiming that all phones, including the Droid X, saving antenna problems if held the wrong way. Many affected companies have been taking shots at Apple lately, including Nokia, HTC, and Motorola. The ad campaign, which states, "No Jacket Required" has been the most publicly visible response.
can you explain this antenna deal
ReplyDeleteThe antenna issues plaguing the iPhone 4 is caused by a electrical short when the phone is gripped a certain way, connecting the two separate pieces of the antenna wrapped around the phone with your hand. All phones have the main functional portion of the antenna in the bottom left hand corner of the phone (mandated by the FCC in order to keep the radio waves as far away from your brain as possible) and many suffer issues with signal if gripped a certain way. Usually these problems are minor and undectectable, but in Apple's case, it was extremely sensitive to hand position and caused frequent dropped calls.
